Know what will change before you resize.
Can I resize only specific PDF pages?
Yes. Choose Specific pages or ranges and enter values such as1-3, 5, 8-10. Only those pages are rebuilt at the selected target size; every unselected page stays in its original position and keeps its original dimensions.
Which PDF page sizes can I use?
Choose A4, US Letter, US Legal, keep each page's original dimensions, or enter a custom width and height. Custom dimensions can use millimetres, inches, or PDF points.
What is the difference between contain, cover, and stretch?
Contain scales proportionally so the whole source page fits inside the target area and margin. Cover scales proportionally until the target is filled, which can clip content at the page edges. Stretch scales width and height independently to fill the target exactly, so proportions can change.
How does Match each source page orientation work?
Auto orientation is decided page by page. A portrait source page gets the portrait form of the selected target size, while a landscape page gets the landscape form. Choose Portrait or Landscape instead when all output pages should use one orientation.
Do margins change the final page dimensions?
No. The selected page size remains the target size. The margin reduces the area available for placing source content inside that page. If the margin leaves no usable area, BeanNest stops instead of creating an invalid result.
Will resizing make my PDF file smaller?
Not intentionally. Resize rebuilds the page containers and scales page content, so the byte size can change, but compression is a different task. Use Compress PDF when file size is the goal.
What happens to links, forms, bookmarks, and signatures?
Resize creates new pages and embeds the source page visually without rasterizing ordinary page content. Document-level features such as links, annotations, forms, bookmarks, accessibility structure, metadata, and digital signatures can change or be lost. Cover mode is also cropping, not redaction.
Can I resize encrypted or damaged PDFs?
No. Encrypted PDFs are rejected because this workflow cannot modify them, and unreadable or damaged PDFs are stopped before export. The current page and file limits are shown beside the file picker because they depend on the browser device profile.
