What the result means
A live picture proves only what this browser session can access.
If the preview appears, the browser obtained a camera stream in this tab. That is useful before a call or recording, but it does not certify sensor quality, autofocus, exposure, color accuracy, hardware health, driver stability, or another application's camera setup.
The settings are negotiated browser values.
The active media track may report width, height, frame rate, facing mode, and device identity. A reported 30 fps value is the negotiated track setting, not a frame-by-frame measurement of actual delivery performance.
No image frames are uploaded or analyzed.
BeanNest connects the local MediaStream directly to the preview element. This tool does not take snapshots, record video, draw frames to a canvas, run face or scene analysis, or save camera identifiers.
Why does the browser ask for permission?
Web pages cannot open a camera silently. The browser controls permission and may remember a previous choice for this site. BeanNest calls the camera API only after you press Start camera.
Why can I see only one camera?
Browsers often hide non-default device names or devices until permission is granted. Some operating systems also expose a logical camera rather than every physical lens.
Why did my camera stop when I changed tabs?
BeanNest intentionally releases the active camera when this page becomes hidden. It does not restart automatically when you return, so you remain in control of camera use.
Does Mirror preview change what other apps see?
No. Mirroring is a local CSS presentation option for this preview only. It does not alter the MediaStream or another application's camera view.
Can this test tell me whether the camera hardware is defective?
No. It reports whether the browser can obtain and show a stream plus the settings that track reports. Hardware diagnosis, calibration, and repair require tools outside this web page.
